Happy Birthday Luke & Logan!!

These precious little babies showed up at 11:48pm and 11:39pm respectively on June 10, 2003. A VERY pregnant mom was VERY ready to see them in person rather than on the ultrasound screen AGAIN. Luckily the docs agreed and I went in for an induction that morning. Around 11am James, my sister Rachel and I all headed to the hospital. Around 12pm I was hooked up to a bazillion monitors, and around 1 they started the pitocin. I remember being pretty irritated as the contractions got harder, and then I remember saying, "I love you" to the anesthesiologist. :-) I was moved to the OR at some point in case any problems arose. There were a bazillion people in there- docs for each baby, nurses for each baby, my doc, James, and some others. I didn't really care at that point- I was just ready to be done! So, Luke FINALLY came at 11:39. We were THRILLED! The doc then said, ok- whenever you're ready, Baby B is waiting. I went to push, tried, and realized I had NO strength in my belly. I remember thinking- I can't do this! I'm SOOOOO tired! There's no way I'm going to be able to push this baby out! I laid back and for a breather and realized it was almost midnight. Visions of one happy little boy getting a bike on his birthday and another one sad that his birthday wasn't until the next day started going through my head. All of the sudden I knew I HAD to get that baby out before midnight. James was awesome- so positive and calm the whole time. Logan joined us at 11:48. I made it with 12 minutes to spare! ha ha Those boys became our whole life. I absolutely adored each of them- watching them grow, interact, and seeing their sweet smiles never got old.
Here they are around 2 years- Logan on the left, Luke on the right- after swimming in their baby pool. These two were always laughing and playing with each other- half the time I had no idea what about- but it sure was fun to watch them! One of the best memories is when Daddy would walk through the door and these two would come running! :-) I don't think James ever had peace and quiet as he entered the door- they waited all day for him to come home, and once he was there they'd play with him until bedtime.
Here's Logan growing a little more- a soccer player like Daddy. We sure are proud of him! He's such a sweetheart! James and I couldn't have survived without Logan- he is truly a gift from God. He makes us smile when we think smiles aren't possible. And now....
He's Mr. Personality. :-) Today he's 5 years old and all grown up. What an incredible son- I can't believe he's 5!!! He's a great big brother, and still adores his Daddy just as much as when he was 2. He takes care of me when I'm not feeling so hot, and is 'man of the house' when Daddy's at work. :-) We are SO lucky to have this sweet little man in our family. Happy Birthday Logan!
And for your viewing pleasure- this is the view we had at our first ultrasound (12 weeks). This is when we found out we were having twins. :-) Aren't they cute?! :-) Happy Birthday Boys!!

Happy Birthday! I love these two! My favorite is how when Matt and James were moving heavy boxes -they found the little things and moved them together too. So, so cute! Can't believe he's five!

Don't think I am a stalker, but we are in Jenny and Casey Ringer's ward and I happened to find your link on her blog. I am Jacque Rupp. My husband Dave and I were in the 82nd BYU ward with you. We taught Sunday School for a little while. I have been so inspired by your blog. I had to ask Jenny about Luke and have been so touched ever since. I don't know much, but I do know your an amazing family and example to me!
I would love to send you an invite to our blog and then you can know who I am for sure, rupp45@q.com. Just send an email, and I hope you don't think I am crazy.
Jenny is amazing. She teaches our second boy in Nursery and I swear he has a crush on her because he can't stop grinning when he see's her!
Happy birthday to your boys and thanks for your example!
